DESCRIPTION:SERVICE:\nA Christingle is a symbolic object used in the Advent\, Christmas\, and Epiphany services of many Christian denominations. Christingle related to a word of Germanic origin\, Christkindl\, meaning “Christ Candle” or Christkind meaning “Little Christ Child”. This is used to celebrate Jesus Christ as the “Light of the World”. \nA symbol of Christianity\, Christingles are made from an orange decorated with red tape\, sweets or dried fruit and a candle. Each of these different elements has a special meaning: \n\nThe orange symbolises the world\nThe red ribbon shows God’s love for the world and the blood of Jesus\nThe sweets/dried fruit represent God’s creations\nThe four cocktail sticks can represent either the four seasons or the four corners of the world\nThe candle represents Jesus being the light of the world\, bringing hope to those in darkness\n\nPlease join us at St. Mary & All Saints for our Christingle Service. \nDATE:\nSunday December 17th 4pm
